 Who We Are


Klondike Outreach has been operating since the late 1970s and is fully funded by Service Canada and Yukon Government to provide employment services to job seekers and support to employers.

We are a non-profit organization supervised by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our mandate is to provide employment services to a rural community.

We track our day-to-day operations for job seekers and employers and with this information are able to evaluate and plan for future services under Yukon Government funding guidelines.

Position Description
 Administrative Assistant  CLOSING DATE August 17 @ 4:30. Must have office admin training/experience, excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work in a dynamic environment.
 Administrative Assistant  CLOSING DATE August 9 @ 4:00; must have experience with general office practices, certification/3 years experience, and be proficient in word-processing and spreadsheet programs.
 Automotive Mechanic - Journeyman  must be proficient at electronic diagnostic procedures, perform repairs & maintenance on variety of makes and models. Wages depend on experience.
 Bartenders  full or part-time positions available
 Bookkeeper  experienced bookkeeper required, full-time, year round - starting immediately
 Camp Cleaner/Cook's Assistant  6-8 hours/day, room & board provided, approximately 1 hour drive from town.
 Carpenter  Carpenter needed with a pouch
 Carpenter's Helper  needed for local contractor
 Commercial Sewing Machine Operator  full-time year-round position
 Cooks (2 locations)  full & part-time positions available includes line cooks, breakfast cook available outside of Dawson
 Deli Worker  full-time, requires basic food handling/cooking skills, food handling course is an asset
 Dishwashers (2 locations)  full & part-time positions available
 Door Person  full or part-time positions available
 Door Security  CLOSING DATE: August 6 @ 4:30
 Education Manager  CLOSING DATE August 6 @ 4:00; must have experience in the education field, working with First Nations government, planning and development, and be familiar with TH history and culture.
 Employment Support Worker  CLOSING DATE: August 4, permanent full-time position available
 General Assistant (2 locations)  1) must be knowledgeable in plumbing, heating, refrigeration & carpentry 2) variety of labour & other tasks at a mine site
 Head Housekeeper  Full-time
 Housekeepers/Room Attendants (6 locations)  full & part-time positions available
 Human Resources Assistant  CLOSING DATE August 6 @ 4:00; OPEN ONLY TO TH CITIZENS; must have experience in human resources and office administration
 HVAC - Journeyman  full-time
 Labourer  requires painting experience, for a short-term project
 Laundry Attendants  full or part-time position available
 Maintenance Assistant  full-time position available
 Office Manager  CLOSING DATE Aug 6; will be responsible for creating procedures for newly developed office and be willing to occasionally travel
 Payroll, Benefits and Asset Reporting Administrator  CLOSING DATE August 11 @ 4:00; must have experieince with payroll and asset software, knowlwdge of labour standards, and strong financial skills
 Plumber - Journeyman  Full-time
 Server  CLOSING DATE: August 6 @ 4:30
 Server/Bartender  part-time
 Servers (4 locations)  various full-time & part-time positions available in bar or restaurants
 Special Events Coordinator  CLOSING DATE Aug 6; must be able to follow directions, handle tasks, meet deadlines, and be willing to occasionally travel.
 Stock Person  full-time position available, will consider short-term help
 STUDENT: Tour Guide  position available to Yukon students who are eligible through the STEP program

 Hours Of Operation


9:00 am to noon and 1:00 to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Closed for statutory holidays.

 

 Our Services


Klondike Outreach provides many services related to employment and career development. We have a Job Board that advertises jobs available in the Dawson City area. You can also access information for jobs located throughout the Yukon and Canada.

Here are some of our services:

  1. advertise local jobs
  2. assist job seekers in preparation for employment (resumes, cover letters and interviews)
  3. use of computer/internet, fax, telephone and resource library
  4. act as a resource for employment-related programs
  5. message service for job seekers
  6. store client resumes

Registration is FREE, just drop by the office and complete the one-page form.

We are currently located at 853 Third Avenue next to the Territorial Agent.

Please note: Dawson is a small town. While there are a considerable number of summer jobs available, there are many qualified people who come to Dawson and are not successful in finding work.
